THE PARENTS OF TEENAGERS DO SUCH EMBARRASSING THINGS! I was a teenager and for some strange reason was at a meeting with my parents. There was some sort of election happening within the group and it was time to vote. “All in favor of the candidate?” Every right hand in the room went up except for my parents’. “All opposed?” Two hands went up. At the time I was mortified that my parents didn’t go along with the group but it must have resonated on some level. Many years later I still salute my parents for giving me this example of having the courage of their convictions even in a room where everyone else was in disagreement with them.
